self-service bike wash

Modern bike wash station

CyklOO is a unique self-service bike wash station that uses a water jet and handheld brushes. Clean your bike quickly and conveniently after every ride, so you don't have to worry about dirt when transporting it by car or train, or storing it at home.

We adapt to your space

Every location is unique, so we can design a CyklOO solution tailored to your requirements and surroundings.

  • The design can be adapted to suit the character of the location or existing street furniture.
  • The modular system allows you to choose the ideal number of wash stands for your needs.
  • The structure can also serve as an attractive advertising space.

We use no chemicals when washing – protecting the environment and promoting an eco-friendly approach to bike maintenance.

Everything you need to know

What utility connections does the bike wash station require?

The bike wash station only requires a water supply connection. No electrical connection or other utilities are needed.

What about the water pressure?

The station uses only the pressure from the mains water supply, which is more than sufficient. To protect bicycle components, we do not recommend washing bikes with high-pressure washers.

Is a building permit required?

Based on experience from previous installations, a building permit is generally not required. However, you may need to notify the relevant local building authority of the planned installation.

Is project documentation required?

Project documentation is not required.

How is water consumption controlled?

Water consumption is controlled by a pressure switch that automatically shuts off the water supply after approximately 15 to 20 seconds (the duration can be adjusted to suit individual requirements).

Where does the wastewater go?

The base frame of the bike wash station is installed in a 20 to 40 cm layer of gravel, allowing water to gradually soak into the ground. Drainage can also be added to direct water away from the station, or the station can be connected to the local sewer system where conditions allow.

Is regular maintenance required?

Yes. As with any mechanical equipment, regular maintenance significantly extends its service life. We recommend removing the ballast slabs and cleaning any deposits from the walk-on grating at least twice a year.

Does the bike wash station also operate in winter?

No. The stand can be dismantled and stored for the winter, although this is not essential. It is important to drain the system and store the hose and spray gun indoors. If the water supply cannot be shut off from a remote location, the water supply pipe, including the shut-off valve, must be installed below the frost line. The valve should be located in a separate access chamber.

Can a payment system be installed on the station?

CyklOO is supplied without a coin mechanism or card payment terminal due to the increased risk of vandalism, higher project costs and the lack of an electrical connection.

In general, the bike wash station should be a free service for cyclists and a freely accessible part of the cycling infrastructure. It is up to the investor to decide whether and how to charge for the service.

Can the appearance of the bike wash station be customised?

The overall design and materials cannot be changed. However, the colour of the expanded metal cladding can be customised, a logo can be added, and elements of street furniture can be incorporated.

What is the investor responsible for?
  • Selecting a suitable installation location
  • Preparing the site for installation
  • Obtaining any necessary approvals from local authorities
